Thespian Dreams

“In middle school there wasn’t much to do involving theater. So when I heard about it in high school I knew I wanted to do it every single day.”

Eva worked hard to get the ten “points” required to become a Thespian. You get these points through participation in our Thespian Troupe 75; such as working front of house, being in a production or assisting with tech (lights, special effects, audio etc.). There is a $30 fee for Thespian ID cards and a subscription for a magazine. If you are on Thespian council, you help run the department though fundraisers, promoting shows and through other activities. The council includes a Secretary, Vice-President & President. Being a Thespian is a great way to be more involved in theatre. You get more experience as an actor while working with a group of amazing people. Theatre allows you to get your crazy out. However, being a Thespian demands a lot of discipline, good organization, commitment, and starts the building blocks of good work ethic for the real world. You can go to the meetings on Friday mornings at 7:50 to get educated on plays, what’s scheduled and how to get more involved.

“We want to get more freshman involved with theatre, ‘cause I think people who are really into theatre coming into high school are super shy to audition for plays and they might feel intimidated. If you are even slightly interested, you should at least check it out."
